Take control of the glider and experience the unique sensation of flying as you glide silently through the air. Whether you're interested in learning the basics of piloting or simply want to enjoy the view, this experience offers something for everyone.
Throughout the day, you’ll enjoy multiple flights, including a mix of winch launches and aerotows that will take you up to approximately 2000 feet. You’ll have the chance to learn essential skills for glider control, guided by an experienced instructor, or simply sit back and let your instructor take the reins while you admire the view.
This gliding adventure is perfect for thrill-seekers and those looking to explore the sport of gliding in a relaxed and scenic setting.
Minimum age is 12-14 depending on location. Maximum height varies from 6'1'' to 6'4''. Maximum weight is generally 16 stone. It will not be possible for you to fly if you suffer from epilepsy, fainting or certain physical or mental disabilities.
As with all flying experiences you will need to call a weather-check line on the day before, or on the morning of your flight. If the weather is unsuitable then you can reschedule your flight for another time.
Your experience will last the full day and you will receive between 2 and 3 flights.
Your briefing may be shared; your flight will be held on a one-to-one basis with the instructor.
Spectators are welcome. Please check with us at point of booking as some centres operate a minimum age policy.
Wear flat-soled shoes and bring a jumper with you in case it gets cold at higher altitudes. Bring gloves in winter and sun block and a hat in summer. Sunglasses are recommended all year round.
The centres operates in spring to fall, weather permitting. Please note that weekends are particularly busy and should booked at least four to six weeks in advance. Some locations only offer weekdays.
