This experience gives you the opportunity to travel in the cab of a Diesel Mechanical Multiple Unit on a scheduled passenger service along the Kent & East Sussex Railway.
Instead of taking a seat in the carriage, you’ll be alongside the driver, following the full 21-mile line from the front of the train.
From this position, you’ll have a clear view of the railway as it unfolds ahead, including signals, points and stations along the route. It’s a different way to experience the journey, offering a closer look at how the train is operated in real time.
Throughout the journey, the driver is available to answer questions and explain how the train works, from the controls in the cab to the techniques used while driving. Whether you’re already familiar with railways or simply curious, it’s an engaging way to understand more about what goes on behind the scenes.
